David DeSteno runs the Social Emotions Group at Northeastern University, where he is a professor of psychology. He is the co-author of Out of Character with Piercarlo Valdesolo, a fellow of the Society for Psychology Science and editor-in-chief of the American Psychological Association's journal Emotion. DeSteno received his PhD from Yale University and has contributed to the New York Times and the Boston Globe, among other publications. He currently resides in Massachusetts.
