Herbert Voss holds a Doctorate of Engineering at Power Electronics and studied electrical engineering in Hannover and Berlin. He has worked as a high school mathematics, physics, and computer science teacher, as well as a lecturer at Berlin's Free University. He has been significantly involved in the maintenance of the PSTricks set of tools for producing very high quality PostScript graphics within LaTeX for numerous years.
