RONNI LUNDY, a journalist and cookbook author from Corbin, Kentucky, has long documented the hillbilly diaspora. She was a restaurant critic and music critic for The Courier-Journal in Louisville, as well as the editor of Louisville Magazine and a contributor to a number of national publications. Gourmet magazine named her book Shuck Beans, Stack Cakes, and Honest Fried Chicken one of the six essential books on Southern cookery. Lundy earned the Craig Claiborne Lifetime Achievement Award from the Southern Foodways Alliance in 2009. She has written for publications such as Eating Well, Gourmet, Bon Appétit, Esquire, and others.
