Wainwright in the Limestone Dales by Alfred Wainwright
The Limestone Dales in North-West Yorkshire centre around the three peaks of Ingleborough, Penyghent and Whernside that rise steeply from a compact bedrock of limestone between Dentdale and Malham. Many walks are included in this book, accompanied by Wainwright's maps of the area. Wainwright walked these dales as a young man and returned many times throughout his life. In 1970 he penned one of his guides, "Walks in the Limestone Country", and in this book he revisits the ares to "renew acquaintance once again with my old and trusted friends".-
