After walking the Fife Coastal Path Hamish, an octogenarian, attempted to walk the other boundary of Fife, from Kincardine to Newburgh. His autumn walk followed hills, rivers, forests and paths, undeterred by bogs and streams. This is not a guide book. It shows Hamish's delight in the outdoors, his curiosity and his sense of humour.

Hamish Brown, MBE, is one of Scotland's most revered outdoor writers, ever since his Hamish Mountain Walk told the story of the first ever doing all the Munros in a single walk, and on through other stories like the first foot-linking of the highest peaks of Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland (Hamish's Groats End Walk) or the first 1,000 mile traverse of Morocco's Atlas Mountains (The Mountains Look on Marrakech). World wandering all his life, recent books tell the family saga of the Fall of Singapore (East of West, West of East) and his two years in the RAF (Airman Abroad). He edited two notable mountains poetry anthologies and, more recently some of his best writings have been collected in Walking the Song and Chasing the Dreams. He has been awarded doctorates from St Andrews University and the Open University and is a popular lecturer. Home most of his life has been on the Fife Coast to which he has now written the definitive guide book.
