Billy Roche was born and continues to live in Wexford, Ireland, the setting for all of his plays. His pieces include The Cavalcaders, which was performed at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin and the Royal Court in London, and Amphibians for the RSC, as well as On Such As We and Lay Me Down Softly.
