What Needs to Change by Giles Radice

Britain is in a state of uncertainty and the call for fundamental change is strong. In this climate, the thinking of the new Left is making strides while Labour appear likely to be called to form the next government. This book presents the thoughts of the foremost thinkers of this movement.

Giles Radice, Labour MP for North Durham and Chairman of the Commons Public Service Select Committee, is one of parliament’s leading thinkers. As an expert on European affairs, he is Chairman of the European Movement and was a Parliamentary Fellow of St Anthony’s College, Oxford, from 1994-5. His Fabian series on attitudes in southern marginals was an important influence in Labour’s modernisation. He writes frequently for newspapers and broadcasts on radio and television.
