White Island, The by Stephen Armstrong
Hedonism and Ibiza have gone together for many years. Around 650 BC, the Carthagenians established a cult on the island, dedicated to Tanit, their goddess of sex. They even named the island Bez, after the god of dance. This title explores a history of Ibiza that few visitors to the island will be aware of.
Stephen Armstrong likes to describe himself as a writer and broadcaster. He is a contributing editor to the Sunday Times culture section, Time Out and Wallpaper* as well as writing for Arena, The Face, Muzik and, for some reason, Men's Health. He also contributes to Radio 4's Front Row and BBC Choice's Liquid News. In the past he has, like all young men, wanted to be a pilot, tried to be in a band and planned to go to South America building bridges for a village. He has also promoted one or two genuinely disastrous club nights. Any minute now he is going to get his life together.
