A. D. Livingston's first book was a novel about poker, published over thirty years ago. Following that, he wrote an article for Life magazine about a new poker game called Texas Hold 'em--and he predicted that it would be come the major gambling game for the rest of the 20th century. Livingston has also written about poker for Sports Illustrated and other magazines. His book, Poker Strategy, has been in print continuously since 1971, when it was a selection for the Playboy book club and the Sports Illustrated book club. He lives in Florida.
