Obermire, Kristin: - Kristin is a teacher living in the Great Northwest with her husband, two imaginative children, and one very diva-ish cat. She likes to travel, blog, create, and write short stories. Kristin has had an eclectic work background from ice cream scooper and Red Cross instructor to working with young people in varying capacities, but her favorite job is being a mom and raising conscientious, kind, and independent kids.
Kristin currently volunteers with her local SMART (Start Making A Reader Today) program, where she reads one-on-one with elementary-aged children each week. Her love of writing started in seventh grade when her teacher entered her short story in a writing contest and she was able to showcase her work. Today, she enjoys reading with her kids, can't leave the bookstore without a purchase, and continues her love affair of reading with children's picture books.
