Andrew Tudor was born in Edinburgh. He has taught at the Universities of Essex and York, and was also the Head of York’s Sociology Department, and founding head of the Department of Theatre, Film & Television. He has previously published five books and numerous academic articles, as well as writing a regular film column for the magazine New Society. He currently lives in Dalmally, Scotland.
