Alfred Eisenstaedt is one of the lengendary photographers of this century and a pioneer in the field of journalism. This book presents a look at his work, from his first days in Germany in the 1930s through his long career at Life magazine, where more than 2500 assignments, including 86 covers, led him on adventures around the world. Included in this selection of 140 photographs are pictures of the famous people of the 20th century such as statesmen, writers, actors, scientists, artists and politicians, as well as portraits of ordinary people.
