Books by Joseph Cummins

Joseph Cummins is an author and historian based in Maplewood, New Jersey. His last book for Quirk was Anything for a Vote: Dirty Tricks, Cheap Shots, and October Surprises in U.S. Presidential Elections (2007). According to the New York Times/Freakonomics blog, that book wonderfully chronicles the campaign smears, attacks, and misdirections that have typified U.S. elections since George Washington's win in 1789. His other books include History's Great Untold Stories ('gripping stories and lively writing' - Library Journal) and a novel, The Snow Train (Akashic, 2001), which was called 'wonderful, sustained piece of intelligent and emotive writing' by the London Times.
