Books by Lindsay Clandfield

Lindsay Clandfield is a teacher, teacher trainer and international author from Canada. He is the main author of Macmillan's new award-winning and critically acclaimed adult course Global (2010) and was a part of the author team for the popular Straightforward Series. Lindsay has won prestigious recognition for his writing, most notably for Global and Dealing with Difficulties (Delta Publishing, with co-author Luke Prodromou) both of which earned him a visit to Buckingham Palace to receive an award from the Duke of Edinburgh. After teaching in Mexico, Spain and the UK Lindsay began his writing career with the website Onestopenglish. He became a regular after winning the Lesson Share competition three times in a row. Rebecca Robb Benne is co-author (with Lindsay Clandfield) of the Intermediate and Upper-intermediate levels of Macmillan's new adult course Global, and co-author (with Jon Hird) of the Advanced level of the modular course Move. She has also written various other courses and resource materials for teenagers. Rebecca has been involved in language teaching at all levels for twenty years as a teacher, editor and writer. She holds a BSc and PGCE in French and German, and an MSc in Applied Linguistics, and has taught English, French and German in the UK, Germany and Denmark. Her main interests, are materials and course design, cultural awareness and motivation. Amanda Jeffries is a teacher, teacher educator and author specialising in teaching advanced learners. She has taught in Chile and in the UK, and is currently working with university students and teachers in Oxford. For Macmillan, she has written the workbook and contributed writing pages for Straightforward Advanced. She is co-author of New Inside Out Advanced. She has also contributed writing, review and study skills sections to the Global series and is co-author of Global Advanced. Robert Campbell has worked as a teacher, an ELT magazine editor, and an author. He has written several readers including Owl Hall (Macmillan) which was a finalist in the 2013 ELTon Awards for innovation in learner resources, and the Extensive Reading Foundation Learner Literature Awards. In 2013 he won a Learner Literature Award for his reader The Green Room (Helbling). Robert is one of the co-authors of the secondary course English in Motion (Richmond Publishing). He is also one of the authors of the award-winning Global eWorkbook (Macmillan). For many years he edited and published iT's for Teachers, a magazine for teachers of English. He also published magazines for British Council students worldwide. He has created web sites for several ELT publishers and produced the audio and video components for many courses. In his spare time he writes and performs songs. Michael Vince was born in London in 1947, and studied English Literature at Cambridge. First taught ELT in Italy and Britain. After postgraduate studies in Education, he taught English in secondary schools in Britain, before moving to Greece, where taught at the British Council, Athens. By the time he left to concentrate on materials writing, he had become Assistant Centre Director with responsibility for Teacher Education. His coursebook Highlight won an ESU Duke of Edinburgh Award in 1992.He holds an MA in TEFL from Reading University, and what used to be the RSA DipTefl.
