Born in Skopje, Yugoslavia, to Albanian parents in 1910, Mother Teresa joined the Loretto nuns at the age of 18. In 1950 she founded the Missionaries of Charity, to work with the poor and the dying of Calcutta. Today, the order is one of the best known and inspiring in the world. The compiler, Brother Angelo Devananda, belongs to the Universal Brothers of the Word, a brotherhood founded by Mother Teresa in 1977.
