Summary

When Adela Quested and her elderly companion Mrs. Moore travel to Chandrapore, a town in India, they find the community there prejudiced and overpowering. They wish to free themselves of this closed-mindedness, and set out to explore the 'real India', seeking advice from Indian muslim Dr. Aziz, who is both charming and rather volatile.
Aziz takes the two women on a tour of the Marabar caves, and his close friend Cyril Fielding accompanies the threesome. However, the visit ends unexpectedly with a jaw-dropping accusation that sees racial tension bubble over with Chandrapore at the centre.
