Summary

A human expedition into deep space encounters a gigantic bowl-shaped object with a star at the center. A landing party is sent to investigate, and they find a variety of strange creatures populating the Bowl. The landing party is separated into two groups - one is captured by the alien inhabitants, the other is pursued across the deadly terrain.

The bowl shaped structure is following the same path as the Sunseeker and it has a habitable are the size of millions of Earths, A landing party is sent to the surface, where they encounter some of the structures inhabitants - wildly differing species, and not all of them friendly.
