Introduction to the Petroleum Geology of the North Sea by KW Glennie (University of Aberdeen UK)
This is the third edition of the highly acclaimed text which was originally based on the courses offered by the JAPEC - Joint Association for Petroleum Exploration Courses. It is now the standard text for this course (annual since 1981) as well as the set book for the Open University Course S338 and the MSc in Petroleum Geology at the Imperial College London, Aberdeen and Trondhelm Universities. This edition has been completely revised and updates and additions have been made to all chapters. Two new chapters have been added on the Devonian and Carboniferous and areas now covered include: Historical Review of North Sea Exploration; The Structural Framework and Pre-Devonian History of the North Sea Area; Devonian - Old Red Sandstone; Carboniferous; Lower Permian - Rotliegend; Upper Permian - Zechstein; Triassic; Jurassic; Cretaceous; Cenozoic; Source Rocks and Hydrocarbons of the North Sea; North Sea Hydrocarbon Plays.
