Anna is a secretary at a South London University, and unhappily wed. While husband Paul is away on another business trip, her boss asks her to act as unofficial hostess to a visiting French lecturer, Dominic Gerard. During his stay, he teaches her all the arts of love, and gives her self-knowledge.
