Washi tape is one of the simplest craft materials around, yet it is also one of the most inspiring. In this recent offering from the Twenty to Make series, papercrafting expert Sara Naumann explains how you can take an array of bright coloured and patterned tapes, then cut, tear, stick, layer, fold, stamp and emboss on it, to create fabulous cards for every occassion. Each project has a full colour image, with step-by-step instructions, plus information on tools and equipment and a few basics to ensure professional results everytime.

Washi tape is the latest indispensable material for card makers, and this little book demonstrates how versatile it can be. There are twenty card projects (plus an extra twenty ideas) showing what you can do with a few rolls of tape, plus whatever else you have in your stash.
Rubber stamping, punches, dry and heat embossing, die cutting, stencils, embossing paste and more all put the tape through its paces. The designs are all bright and modern, simple and suitable for many occasions. You won't find festival specific cards in here but there are many ideas that can be adapted for the season and occasion. What the book really does is show you how you can extend the papercrafts you already do to involve the new material; what it is capable of, how it looks when stamped on or embossed or die cut etc. Each project has a full page photograph of the finished card, plus a small inset of an alternative as well as instructions, a list of supplies and (very usefully) a list of tools. Many items are the ones most cardmakers already own, and as I perused the book my own creative juices were soon flowing and I was planning how to incorporate the tape with my latest acquisitions. This is a good book as it really shows you what the tape is capable of, how to use it and how to include it with what you already have to hand.
