This publication will be the first comprehensive survey of her practice in English, published on the occasion of her exhibition at Muzeum Susch opening in December 2023, curated by Cecilia Alemani.

Anu Poder is one of Estonia's most revelatory voices of the last five decades. Her work has stood out since the 1970s as uniquely crafted, originally conceived, and deeply personal. Yet, because it was somehow out of sync with the then established art landscape in Estonia, it has been overlooked for many years. Poder is known for exploring the human body, highlighting the fragility, impermanence and ephemerality of life in a series of highly evocative sculptures. Throughout her life, she employed unconventional materials such as textile, wax, plaster, soap, plastic and wood to compose delicate assemblages.

This book will feature introductory essays to her practice in the broader context of Eastern Europe by Cecilia Alemani and Linda Kaljundai and a contextualization within the feminist movement by Bojana Pejic. The publication will also feature in-depth analyses of her work, including the significance of textile and clothing by Ann Coxon, Poder's relationship to dance and performance by Agnieszka Sosnowska, a dive in to her unrealized and lost works by Marika Kuzmicz, a comparative look with other key women artists working at the same time by Agata Jakubowska, and an analysis of Poder's relationship with corporeality by Adomas Narkevicius and Dina Akhmadeeva. The book will also include numerous images about her life, many of which never published, accompanied by a narrative by Triin Tulgiste. A large iconographic apparatus will complement the book, with unpublished photographs and other documentations.

The definitive book on High Line art, the public art program on the High Line, one of the most popular destinations in New York City. High Art surveys the first five years of art on the High Line, the unique elevated park in New York City created through the repurposing of an abandoned railway line. Since 2009, when the High Line was opened to the public, nineteen million visitors have been witness to more than 100 public art projects animating the grounds of this unique park in the sky. The works include sculpture, installation, billboards, video, performance, and sound works by a range of artists, from established figures such as John Baldessari, El Anatsui, Maurizio Cattelan, Gilbert and George, and Ed Ruscha, to critically acclaimed mid-career artists such as Carol Bove, Sarah Sze, and Mark Grotjahn. The High Line is steadily broadening the audience for contemporary art while pushing the boundaries of traditional public art programs. This beautifully illustrated volume features the High Line's diverse projects thematically, including full-colour images and short texts on the various projects, along with an introduction by curator Cecilia Alemani; an essay on the High Line's effect on Chelsea, the neighbourhood cultural hub where it is located; and a roundtable discussion about public art today.
The most comprehensive and up-to-date book about the vibrant public art program of New York’s global destination, the High Line The High Line, New York City’s famed elevated rail line-turned-greenway, hosts millions of visitors annually, providing a unique space for encountering art and performance. The book documents paintings by the artist dating from 1944 through 1986 and two sculptures, with a dedicated plates section featuring the works in the exhibition, installation shots, and contextual images of the artist. Endless Painting is the sixth solo exhibition of de Kooning's work presented by Gagosian, with the first organized in 1987.

A pioneering figure of the postwar era, de Kooning probed the expressive potential of color, line, and space and continuously challenged the boundaries between figuration and abstraction. Through the considered placement of late paintings the exhibition foregrounds visual motifs that recurred throughout de Kooning's career. This approach reflects Alemani's close investigation of paintings from the 1980s in which she identified an expansive repertoire of human forms--elbows, knees, mouths, eyes--that can be traced as far back as the artist's works of the 1930s and 1940s that drew on Cubism and Surrealism.

De Kooning often reworked canvases, reincorporating passages from earlier compositions by tracing shapes he wanted to preserve onto vellum, and even changing their orientation multiple times during the painting's gestation. It was through revisiting and revising his compositions that he developed a consistent but flexible vocabulary of color and gesture rooted in figuration. "A restless explorer of the canvas, de Kooning never stopped interrogating the possibilities of what painting could be," Alemani notes. The exhibition's title, Endless Painting, references this enduring, ever-evolving visual language and the artist's professed decision to "just stop" rather than formally finish paintings. Alemani and John Elderfield explore these concepts in the book and expand on the many possible interpretations of de Kooning's work.
Good Dreams, Bad Dreams brings together the work of 60 artists and more than 200 pieces from the Tony and Elham Salamé Collection.
