In the light of the international endeavours to professionalise carework, casework in professional care is a matter of long-standing concern; however, if one considers the current debates in German-speaking countries over the professionality of carework, it must also be seen as a highly topical issue. The present volume offers a contribution to the methodological debates of the new discipline of nursing science as an empirical science.
