This book offers inter-disciplinary, evidence-informed discussion around notions of excellence in higher education teaching. It will act as a key stimulus for institutional and sector-wide debates and a reference point for initiatives around the TEF agenda. Drawing on the authentic, grounded experiences of practising HE professionals and complemented by a range of recent case studies, this book offers insight into the pursuit of capturing excellence in the complex and wide-ranging context of HE teaching. It will consider what the repercussions of TEF might mean to those involved in learning and teaching in the sector and how this might impact institutional policy and practice.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ GOOD \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":49595933294865,"sku":"GOR013485715","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52434008670481,"sku":"NLS9781787147621","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1787147622.jpg?v=1750801683"},{"product_id":"selling-our-youth-book-harriet-bradley-9781801172394","title":"Selling Our Youth","description":"Selling Our Youth explores the way the class origins of recent graduates continue to shape their labour market careers and thus to reproduce class privilege and class disadvantage, illustrating how class and gender come together to influence these young adults' opportunities and choices.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ VERY_GOOD \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":49642251092241,"sku":"GOR013376386","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52120561975569,"sku":"NLS9781801172394","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1801172390.jpg?v=1751059692"},{"product_id":"from-access-to-engagement-and-beyond-book-stuart-billingham-9781803820408","title":"From Access to Engagement and Beyond","description":"This collection reveals a recurring theme in the author’s work over almost three decades: that the preoccupation in policy, commentary, research and practice with who gets into higher education has led to a corresponding failure to cast a critical eye over what, where and when they get the higher education offer. It seems that potential students are expected to fit-in with HE culture, rather than think about how HE might change to fit-in with them.    On offer is a collection of the author’s works, spanning much of his professional working life, covering issues relevant to widening access to success in higher education and for a wide-ranging audience. Some chapters offer conference speeches and keynotes; others are blogs or chapters in books. One is even a speech to an audience from the UK House of Lords delivered originally within the Parliament precincts. Together they paint a picture of the prevailing issues and concerns of the widening access agenda over twenty-five years.   A recurring call throughout is the need for greater international collaboration, a need that has indeed grown in importance as the conversation on widening access and success has progressed. Some would say that this is due, in no small measure, to the work of this critical thinker and practitioner.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ VERY_GOOD \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":49650733809937,"sku":"GOR013393366","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49741304725777,"sku":"NGR9781803820408","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52120530813201,"sku":"NLS9781803820408","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1803820403.jpg?v=1751090978"},{"product_id":"perspectives-on-access-to-higher-education-book-sam-broadhead-9781787569942","title":"Perspectives on Access to Higher Education","description":"Access education has been through many changes since its beginnings in the late 1960s. Recent shifts in the academic landscape including standardization, grading, and new tensions in higher education raise difficult questions for educators regarding the future of access education. This book critically examines various aspects of Access education from a historical perspective. It proposes that there are particular 'Access' values that are shared by practitioners that can be at odds with the needs of higher education. Wider questions concerning funding and accountability underpinned by neoliberalism have also had an impact on Access education. The authors, practitioners and researchers of Access education, gather their insights in this timely book, grounded in authentic experience. They explore the ways in which policies and procedures have been developed in light of these tensions. By drawing particular attention to the voices of Access practitioners and highlighting the current constraints around curriculum design this book will prove invaluable for leaders, administrators, researchers and practitioners in further and higher education.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49737101050129,"sku":"NGR9781787569942","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52120540512529,"sku":"NLS9781787569942","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1787569942.jpg?v=1751430085"},{"product_id":"leadership-of-historically-black-colleges-and-universities-book-johnny-d-jones-9781839822070","title":"Leadership of Historically Black Colleges and Universities","description":"HBCUs are facing increasing challenges with funding, accreditation, enrollment, retention, and graduations rates. Globally, billions of learners at all levels were affected by months of rolling school closures and other severe pandemic restrictions to daily life. Magnifying issues of educational equity, access, and opportunity, this unprecedented global crisis forced Deans, and academic and professional staff in schools of education to make decisions for learning, teaching, research, and engagement in a fast-changing landscape. These decisions reshaped schools of education and the lives and experiences of staff and students in powerful ways.   Building a Better Normal captures education scholars’ reflections on the decision-making and impacts of their experiences from 2020 to 2023. Uniquely, the volume brings together Education Deans and scholars from Universitas 21 institutions. Drawing on case studies and narrative reflections, the contributors offer crucial insights that can guide higher education and schools of education on structural and conceptual shifts in approaches to leadership, research, teaching, learning, and student and staff well-being.   The COVID-19 pandemic is a generation-defining event that will echo in the actions of teachers and researchers for years, allowing us to redefine the landscape of education for a better normal.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49750626074897,"sku":"NGR9781804554135","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51054939078929,"sku":"NIN9781804554135","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52657062838545,"sku":"NLS9781804554135","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1804554138.jpg?v=1751313144"},{"product_id":"refugees-in-higher-education-book-jacqueline-stevenson-9781837979783","title":"Refugees in Higher Education","description":"This book examines the key debates relating to the rights, responsibilities, policies and practices of the higher education sector when dealing with students from refugee backgrounds. Exploring the political context of forced migration to countries of settlement, including the impact made by media rhetoric, Refugees in Higher Education identifies how such global issues frame and position the efforts of universities to open access to, and enable the participation of, refugee students. Focusing on the UK and Australia (representing a past colonising and a colonised country) and including a series of individual case studies, it asks challenging questions about the discourses around forced migration, and how these play out for students on a personal level. With unprecedented levels of forced migration, and the growing strength of anti-immigration arguments as more power is conceded to alt-right conservative governments, Refugees in Higher Education is both a timely and much-needed contribution to its field.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49751706435857,"sku":"NGR9781837979783","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52594434375953,"sku":"NLS9781837979783","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52755600015633,"sku":"NIN9781837979783","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1837979782.jpg?v=1751060750"},{"product_id":"arts-and-academia-book-carola-boehm-9781838677305","title":"Arts and Academia","description":"Art schools in our universities play a big role in many ways and not only within the institutions they are situated in. When considering that the act of engaging in arts and culture has a demonstrable but indirect effect on innovation, welfare, social cohesion, entrepreneurship, local identity and the knowledge economy, our universities can and do use arts to make themselves more permeable and to provide co-created spaces of learning.   This book is a timely exploration of where creative practices and arts live in our higher education communities? How do creatives shape this creative education ecosystem? How does art provide an interface between what is within and outside of our knowledge institutions? And why should all of this matter for our communities, for the economy and for our society, specifically in a post pandemic recovery.   Carola Boehm explores the delightful ways that art finds itself in every corner of academia, exploring questions of where art lives in the university sector and how it interacts with the outside, interfacing with the communities beyond its boundaries, and how it got where it is today. And with all that comes the advocacy of providing a strong justification that we need creative provisions in our universities, as there are few more powerful tools left to our disposal that can glue together and heal our divided society and our fragmented humanity.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":50924756238609,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ WELL_READ \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":50924757188881,"sku":"GOR014126487","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52140101665041,"sku":"NLS9781838677305","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1838677305.jpg?v=1751423992"},{"product_id":"living-and-studying-at-home-book-sheila-riddell-9781835495018","title":"Living and Studying at Home","description":"Traditionally, the most socially and academically selective UK universities expected students to move from the family home to the institution during term time. More recently, there has been a growing trend for students to live at home and commute to university, with the proportion commuting driven in part by the COVID-19 pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis.   Examining commuting through a social justice lens rather than focusing solely on the way in which commuters navigate home and university identities, Living and Studying at Home: Degrees of Inequality explores the social characteristics, experiences, and outcomes of commuting students in an old Scottish university, highlighting the social class dimension of commuting. To redress the social inequalities identified, the authors consider what universities can do to meet the needs of commuter students who are currently highly marginalised.   Drawing on findings of recent research undertaken by the authors, chapters discuss why commuting is socially structured by a range of factors including social deprivation, caring responsibilities, ethnicity, disability, and being a mature student, and suggest future policy, cultural and pedagogical changes which challenge the systemic inequalities experienced by living at home students.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51051488117009,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51051491131665,"sku":"NIN9781835495018","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":52110954791185,"sku":"NGR9781835495018","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52660525203729,"sku":"NLS9781835495018","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/183549501X.jpg?v=1751248172"},{"product_id":"recognizing-promise-book-michael-a-baston-9781802627060","title":"Recognizing Promise","description":"COVID-19 has exposed and exacerbated entrenched inequities spawned by the historical and structural reality of bigotry, prejudice, discrimination, and inequity in all forms, and at institutional and individual levels. These leaders come from diverse backgrounds and have worked at a mix of public and private institutions. Their campuses ranged from two-year, open access institutions to selective four-year research universities in six states across the U.S.   As colleges and universities face intensifying challenges, Leadership Talks offers a new model of seven essential skills and qualities for 21st century academic leadership. Many campus leaders will need to navigate a looming enrolment cliff, campus protests, increasing public scrutiny, budget cuts, and new court decisions and state legislation curtailing efforts to increase diversity. Each chapter offers insights about how campus leaders have addressed those challenges in the past and hope for how campuses can thrive in the future.   Presenting a diverse and inclusive overview of academic leadership, this timely work will be of use and interest to current, future, and aspiring leaders in higher education, along with higher education scholars and students.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51055403860241,"sku":"NIN9781837535552","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":52111151890705,"sku":"NGR9781837535552","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52618866557201,"sku":"NLS9781837535552","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1837535558.jpg?v=1750963302"},{"product_id":"sexual-violence-on-campus-book-chris-linder-9781835491164","title":"Sexual Violence on Campus","description":"Rates of sexual violence on college campuses in the U.S. have not changed for more than 60 years. People who cause harm target women of color, queer and trans students, and disabled students at even higher rates than their peers. In Sexual Violence on Campus, Chris Linder examines oppression as the root of violence, with a specific focus on the intersections of racism, sexism, and sexual violence.   Using a power-conscious framework, Linder examines well-intended practices related to awareness, prevention, and response of sexual violence on college campuses, highlighting some of the challenges with over-relying on one-size-fits-all strategies for addressing sexual violence. The first edition of this book received widespread praise for providing clear and accessible examples of problems with current practices, along with recommendations for improving practice. Those examples have been enhanced in the second edition of this text.   Reframing the discussion from focusing on “perpetrators” to “people who cause harm,” this updated edition includes a new chapter examining the relationship between harm and oppression, challenging practitioners and scholars to consider new ways of thinking about sexual harm and people who cause harm. By focusing on why people engage in harmful sexual behavior, we may improve our ability to prevent harm from happening in the first place.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51056581509393,"sku":"NIN9781835491164","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":51216320725265,"sku":"NGR9781835491164","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52587635802385,"sku":"NLS9781835491164","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1835491162.jpg?v=1750963108"},{"product_id":"theory-of-change-book-samuel-dent-9781800717909","title":"Theory of Change","description":"Theory of Change speaks to those looking for an academically rigorous discussion of the origins and debates around this approach in Higher Education. Covid-19 has radically changed this rigidity, with thousands of Universities compelled to go 100 percent online in just a few days. Threatened by edtech start-ups, big tech corporations increasingly interested in academia, as well as venture capitalists attracted by the sector's high profit margins, Universities need to change their way of doing business to stay in business.   Higher Education at the Crossroads of Disruption: The University of the 21st Century looks at the various areas of higher education that will likely undergo radical changes. Learning and teaching approaches will increasingly move into the digital sphere; advances in artificial intelligence as well as (big) data availability, will change the way academia works. This books examines how teaching formats will vary, and how curricula and course content will evolve. Higher education will most likely focus on skills development, with a stronger emphasis on inter- and multidisciplinary study content, and a steady turn toward society's well-being and sustainability. The illusion of life in academic research as an abstract ‘life of the mind’ is unsustainable. Outside academia, wider social changes have come to have an increasingly profound influence on our working lives. Within the academy, changing employment conditions and funding for higher education in recent decades have led to an increasingly insecure existence for those undertaking PhDs and further research. Slow change is happening in response, with more focus being given to precarity within the academy, the mental health needs of early career researchers, and presenting a more honest and open picture of what it’s like to build an academic career.    The Affective Researcher confronts this challenge of defining a new relationship between researchers and their research. It sets out, simply and accessibly, how you can become a more rounded, authentic researcher. It does this not in terms of the risk management of a methods section, or by cordoning off subjectivity as a threat to supposed objectivity. Nor is it another book on being a more ‘effective’ researcher. Instead, it sets out a path of how to become a more affective researcher. This text offers a stimulating and wide-ranging interdisciplinary discussion of the implications of the TEF on the UK’s fast-moving policy environment, and increasingly neoliberal higher education sector.     Questioning the basic premise of the TEF, the authors tease out how students and staff are affected in different and often unfair ways by its implementation. Whilst acknowledging that the TEF has focused management attention on ways in which a diverse student population is, or is not, supported in their learning, this book highlights how it remains problematically silent on other kinds of diversity in the system such as specialised courses, diverse teaching styles, and varying institution sizes.      Offering readers ways of rethinking and resisting ‘teaching excellence’, this book provides a timely examination of how, in various ways, the TEF, treated as an exclusionary quality assurance system, is likely to reinforce extant structural inequalities and competitive hierarchies in the sector.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ -","offer_id":51462140952849,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ VERY_GOOD \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":51462140985617,"sku":"GOR014289187","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52613252317457,"sku":"NLS9781787695368","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":53036950946065,"sku":"NIN9781787695368","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1787695360.jpg?v=1750723991"},{"product_id":"supervision-in-higher-education-book-line-wittek-9781835490969","title":"Supervision in Higher Education","description":"A lot of uncertainty exists among professors in higher education about what the role of supervisor entails. Wittek brings together new knowledge and information concerning international guidelines for research ethics in relation to reliability, honesty, respect and accountability; empirical studies on supervision that sheds light on research integrity in supervision and guidance; and practical cases and questions taken from real situations in higher education.   Chapters focus on what supervisors can do to make the ethical guidelines transparent and ensure that their practice is in accordance with the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities (ALLEA) principles. The challenges discussed include how is trust established in guidance and supervision, co-authorship and ownership of data and the need for supervisors to be responsive and sensitive to the vulnerability that can characterise younger researchers who are in an early phase of their career.   Supervision in Higher Education: A Research Ethics Perspective unpacks what current research ethical principles can mean for the supervision of PhD and MA candidates and provides guidance for less formalised contexts. The pandemic and new developments in the digital space have had a transformative effect on the higher education landscape, making it necessary to revisit discussion about academic citizenship, explore the extent to which it continues to act as the glue that holds institutions together, and consider which elements should be reintroduced or strengthened to encourage collaboration and partnership.   Re-envisioning Academic Citizenship examines the concept and importance of citizenship through several different and ever evolving lenses, offering guidelines for universities to develop definitions that resonate with their own mission and the specificities of their own context. These guidelines offer support to colleagues in managerial roles to develop academic career framework policy documents; to implement career progression policies which benefit individuals and institutions in equitable measure; and to design initiatives that incentivize and support citizenship behaviours and meaningful partnership and collaboration. This study is in response to the continuing resistance and concern about the value of HASS research and researchers compared to STEM, and the precarious and tenuous career pathways that they face. There is an apparent contradiction between the call for interdisciplinary research to solve complex problems and the exclusion of HASS research from funding cycles and research priorities.   By providing a deeper understanding of real-life experiences through eight case studies of HASS graduates, Early Career Research Pathways explores how researchers past experiences inform their developing researcher identities and career futures. Researchers’ share deeply individual stories that describe their experiences as doctoral students in Australian universities, as new graduates transitioning to employment, and early career researchers pursuing new pathways. Topics such as enabling social impact through research, the mental and financial health of the early career researcher, various lived-experiences such as COVID-19 and the relative merits of collaboration, cooperation and competition are discussed. Their stories often raising conflicting and still unresolved questions and concerns.   For those thinking about enrolling, this research gives an appreciation of the transformative power of doctoral studies. Credit is a vehicle for widening access and student choice, for curricular flexibility and mobility of learning.  Credit provides a transparent, enabling framework within which students can be supported and sustained through their learning journey.  Yet much of the conservative 'university establishment' in the UK university sector has been hostile to the credit project, hence credit in the UK is both championed and condemned, celebrated and feared, embedded and rejected in different settings.   This book provides an introductory overview of credit, chronological chapters which trace the narrative of the history of credit in the UK higher education (decade by decade) from the ground-breaking Robbins Report of 1963 to the present day and a commentary on the developments of the past half-century.  Everyone involved, or with an interest, in Higher Education should read this book, including educators (curriculum developers, tutors, assessors) and administrators, institutional leaders and student advisors.  Debates about the focus, funding and future of the UK university sector is at the forefront of political and educational discourse; this book could not be more timely.  Furthermore, there are no comparable books in the market.  This is the first history of credit in the UK HE sector.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52139786043665,"sku":"NLS9781839821714","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":53037002162449,"sku":"NIN9781839821714","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9781839821714.jpg?v=1757570975"},{"product_id":"higher-education-funding-and-access-in-international-perspective-book-sheila-riddell-9781787546547","title":"Higher Education Funding and Access in International Perspective","description":"This book explores the way in which the twin pressures of globalisation and localisation play out in higher education across the developed world, often reflected in more specific debates on fees regimes, access and culture.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52140165398801,"sku":"NLS9781787546547","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9781787546547.jpg?v=1757572979"},{"product_id":"cultural-journeys-in-higher-education-book-jan-bamford-9781787438590","title":"Cultural Journeys in Higher Education","description":"The cultural diversity of university student populations can be seen to reflect the changing demographics of an increasingly international mobile workforce. The implications of the growing migrant population and differing communication patterns in the classroom is a highly under-researched area. This book explores the increasingly culturally diverse composition of the student body and its impact on student learning. The need to negotiate differing cultural scripts and adapting to the new cultural landscape when students arrive at university are just a few of the experiences addressed within this important text. Cultural Journeys in Higher Education navigates the issue of curriculum delivery through the eyes of those who receive the education and questions whether a new approach is needed to adapt to an increasingly culturally diverse student body. Degrees of Success provides a critical test of this through examination of participation and success of learners progressing to HE with a vocational background.   Employing an original conceptual framework that combines the ideas of Basil Bernstein and Pierre Bourdieu the authors analyse the various transitional frictions experienced by learners with VET backgrounds on their journeys into and through the HE system. The findings indicate that including students with vocational qualifications does lead to widening participation but that their modes of participation may not provide fair access and outcomes. In part this is due to the epistemic incompatibilities between higher and vocational education which remain unresolved despite constant VET qualification reform.   This book, therefore, extends the debate about widening participation beyond metaphors of barriers to access to consider the epistemic and pedagogical challenges of increasing student heterogeneity in high participation HE systems. The analysis and policy suggestions therefore have relevance for all seeking to support students' HE learning journeys, and policy makers concerned with how best to utilise HE systems as means of furthering social mobility and justice.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"- \/ - \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":52330816536849,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52330817224977,"sku":"NLS9781800431959","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9781800431959.jpg?v=1758146571"},{"product_id":"combatting-marginalisation-by-co-creating-education-book-david-thore-gravesen-9781800434516","title":"Combatting Marginalisation by Co-Creating Education","description":"The result of collaboration between students and researchers across Europe as part of an Erasmus+ funded project, this book sheds light on power structures and exclusion processes in education from the perspectives of young people.     Bridging practical, empirical and theoretical questions, and focusing on young people’s stories in and outside of school, this edited collection delves into the narratives of young respondents that have experienced severe challenges in their school life. This is significant at a time of great turbulence in the higher education sectors in both the UK and Australia, and when activities to support widening participation, retention and progression of all university students are needed more than ever.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":52857214796049,"sku":"NGR9781836088639","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":53595767275793,"sku":"NLS9781836088639","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9781836088639.jpg?v=1774640748"}],"url":"https:\/\/www.worldofbooks.com\/en-gb\/collections\/great-debates-in-higher-education-book-series.oembed","provider":"World of Books ","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
