Foundations of Antenna Radiation Theory incorporates the modal analysis, generic antenna properties and design methods discovered or developed in the last few decades, not being reflected in most antenna books, into a comprehensive introduction to the theory of antennas. This book puts readers into conversation with the latest research and situates students and researchers at the cutting edge of an important field of wireless technology.   The book also includes:      Detailed discussions of the solution methods for Maxwell equations and wave equations to provide a theoretical foundation for electromagnetic analysis of antennas  Recent developments for antenna radiation in closed and open space, modal analysis and field expansions, dyadic Green’s functions, time-domain theory, state-of-the-art antenna array synthesis methods, wireless power transmission systems, and more  Innovative material derived from the author’s own research   Foundations of Antenna Radiation Theory is ideal for graduate or advanced undergraduate students studying antenna theory, as well as for reference by researchers, engineers, and industry professionals in the areas of wireless technology.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ GARDNERS","offer_id":49742378500369,"sku":"NGR9781394170852","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51024321872145,"sku":"NIN9781394170852","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52685528629521,"sku":"NLS9781394170852","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1394170858.jpg?v=1750857570"},{"product_id":"discontinuities-in-the-electromagnetic-field-book-m-mithat-idemen-9781118034156","title":"Discontinuities in the Electromagnetic Field","description":"A multifaceted approach to understanding, calculating, and managing electromagnetic discontinuities   Presenting new, innovative approaches alongside basic results, this text helps readers better understand, calculate, and manage the discontinuities that occur within the electromagnetic field. Among the electromagnetic discontinuities explored in this volume are:      Bounded jump discontinuities at the interfaces between two media or on the material sheets that model very thin layers     Unbounded values at the edges of wedge-type structures     Unbounded values at the tips of conical structures      The text examines all the key issues related to the bodies that carry the interfaces, edges, or tips, whether these bodies are at rest or in motion with respect to an observer. In addition to its clear explanations, the text offers plenty of step-by-step examples to clarify complex theory and calculations. Moreover, readers are encouraged to fine-tune their skills and knowledge by solving the text's problem sets.   Three fundamental, classical theories serve as the foundation for this text: distributions, confluence, and the special theory of relativity. The text sets forth the fundamentals of all three of these theories for readers who are not fully familiar with them. Moreover, the author demonstrates how to solve electromagnetic discontinuity problems by seamlessly combining all three theories into a single approach.   With this text as their guide, readers can apply a unique philosophy and approach to the investigation and development of structures that have the potential to enhance the capabilities of electronics, antennas, microwaves, acoustics, medicine, and many more application areas.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ VERY_GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50159564882193,"sku":"CIN1118034155VG","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51143017627921,"sku":"NIN9781118034156","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52591629893905,"sku":"NLS9781118034156","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1118034155.jpg?v=1769689047"},{"product_id":"electromagnetic-theory-book-julius-adams-stratton-9780470131534","title":"Electromagnetic Theory","description":"The pattern set nearly 70 years ago by Maxwell's Treatise on Electricity and Magnetism has had a dominant influence on almost every subsequent English and American text, persisting to the present day. The Treatise was undertaken with the intention of presenting a connected account of the entire known body of electric and magnetic phenomena from the single point of view of Faraday. Thus, it contained little or no mention of the hypotheses put forward on the Continent in earlier years by Riemann, Weber, Kirchhoff, Helmholtz, and others. It is by no means clear that the complete abandonment of these older theories was fortunate for the later development of physics. So far as the purpose of the Treatise was to disseminate the ideas of Faraday, it was undoubtedly fulfilled; as an exposition of the author's own contributions, it proved less successful. By and large, the theories and doctrines peculiar to Maxwell the concept of displacement current, the identity of light and electromagnetic vibrations appeared there in scarcely greater completeness and perhaps in a less attractive form than in the original memoirs. We find that all the first volume and a large part of the second deal with the stationary state. In fact, only a dozen pages are devoted to the general equations of the electromagnetic field, 18 to the propagation of plane waves and the electromagnetic theory of light, and a score more to magneto-optics, all out of a total of 1,000. The mathematical completeness of potential theory and the practical utility of circuit theory have influenced English and American writers in very nearly the same proportion since that day. Only the original and solitary genius of Heaviside succeeded in breaking away from this course. For an exploration of the fundamental content of Maxwell's equations one must turn again to the Continent. There the work of Hertz, Lorentz, Abraham, and Sommerfeld, together with their associates and successors, has led to a vastly deeper understanding of physical phenomena and to industrial developments of tremendous proportions. The present volume attempts a more adequate treatment of variable electromagnetic fields and the theory of wave propagation. Some attention is given to the stationary state, but for the purpose of introducing fundamental concepts under simple conditions, and always with a view to later application in the general case.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50353982865681,"sku":"CIN0470131535G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51002643579153,"sku":"NIN9780470131534","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/0470131535.jpg?v=1751197514"},{"product_id":"methods-in-electromagnetic-wave-propagation-book-d-s-j-jones-9780780311558","title":"Methods in Electromagnetic Wave Propagation","description":"Co-published with Oxford University Press. Many problems in computational engineering therefore require both deterministic and stochastic modeling to be used in parallel, allowing for different degrees of confidence and incorporating datasets of different kinds. In particular, non-intrusive stochastic methods can be easily combined with widely used deterministic approaches, enabling this more robust form of data analysis to be applied to a range of computational challenges.   Deterministic and Stochastic Modeling in Computational Electromagnetics provides a rare treatment of parallel deterministic–stochastic computational modeling and its beneficial applications. Unlike other works of its kind, which generally treat deterministic and stochastic modeling in isolation from one another, it aims to demonstrate the usefulness of a combined approach and present particular use-cases in which such an approach is clearly required. It offers a non-intrusive stochastic approach which can be incorporated with minimal effort into virtually all existing computational models.   Readers will also find:     A range of specific examples demonstrating the efficiency of deterministic–stochastic modeling Computational examples of successful applications including ground penetrating radars (GPR), radiation from 5G systems, transcranial magnetic and electric stimulation (TMS and TES), and more Introduction to fundamental principles in field theory to ground the discussion of computational modeling   Deterministic and Stochastic Modeling in Computational Electromagnetics is a valuable reference for researchers, including graduate and undergraduate students, in computational electromagnetics, as well as to multidisciplinary researchers, engineers, physicists, and mathematicians.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":51101163979025,"sku":"NIN9781119989240","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"GB \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52135931281681,"sku":"NLS9781119989240","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1119989248.jpg?v=1773921293"},{"product_id":"finite-element-method-electromagnetics-book-john-l-volakis-9780780334250","title":"Finite Element Method Electromagnetics","description":"Employed in a large number of commercial electromagnetic simulation packages, the finite element method is one of the most popular and well-established numerical techniques in engineering. Dudley, Series Editor 'I will cherish my copy of this gem.'--James R. Wait This is a companion volume to the many available graduate textbooks on electromagnetic theory. It is devoted to a study of the infinities in electromagnetic fields and in their sources. Three types of singularities are investigated: (1) Those associated with strongly concentrated sources of charge and current, the relevant densities are expressed in terms of delta-functions and derivatives. (2) Those associated with the fields resulting from strongly concentrated sources. (3) Those which occur at sharp edges and vertices of cones and sectors. The approach is both theoretical and numerical. The information presented, far from being purely formal, is of importance for practical work. It can be used, for example, to accelerate significantly the convergence of a numerical algorithm. The book is written for electrical engineers and applied physicists who have an interest in the general topic of 'Maxwell's equations' and more particularly for those who are engaged in the actual solution of electromagnetic problems. The mathematical level of the text is that of the 'applied' mathematician. An introductory chapter on 'Distribution Theory' has been written in that spirit. Also in the series. In Differential Forms in Electromagnetics, Lindell simplifies the notation and adds memory aids in order to ease the reader's leap from Gibbsian analysis to differential forms, and provides the algebraic tools corresponding to the dyadics of Gibbsian analysis that have long been missing from the formalism. He introduces the reader to basic EM theory and wave equations for the electromagnetic two-forms, discusses the derivation of useful identities, and explains novel ways of treating problems in general linear (bi-anisotropic) media.   Clearly written and devoid of unnecessary mathematical jargon, Differential Forms in Electromagnetics helps engineers master an area of intense interest for anyone involved in research on metamaterials.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ NEW \/ INGRAM","offer_id":52995948609809,"sku":"NIN9780471648017","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/9780471648017.jpg?v=1767665909"}],"url":"https:\/\/www.worldofbooks.com\/en-gb\/collections\/ieee-press-series-on-electromagnetic-wave-theory-book-series.oembed","provider":"World of Books ","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
