Named for Confederate General J.E.B. Stuart, these vehicles filled the need for a light tank and, in addition to the US, they were supplied to Allied military forces. The leap from the M3 to the M5 Stuart took place in 1941, when the US Ordnance Department accepted a proposal by Cadillac to install double Cadillac V8 engines in the tank and, after remodeling the hull to accommodate the new engines, a new tank, the M5, was born. Reconnaissance units in the front lines of US forces were always accompanied by the agile M5s. With a top speed of 45 mph, armor protection, and firepower, the M5A1 provided powerful support. Although not a match for heavy German armor, the Stuart was more than adequate for dealing with infantry. In addition to the US military, M5s were supplied to Britain, the Soviet Union, and France. After WI, the Stuart saw action in such far-flung places as China, India, and Indochina.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ VERY_GOOD \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":49571767124241,"sku":"GOR013583039","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":53568185434385,"sku":"CIN0897476107G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/0897476107.jpg?v=1751171539"},{"product_id":"farming-town-book-peter-roop-9781575721279","title":"A Farming Town","description":null,"brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":49799386464529,"sku":"CIN1575721279G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ WELL_READ \/ SBYB","offer_id":50382173896977,"sku":"CIN1575721279A","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1575721279.jpg?v=1751245461"},{"product_id":"gpa-dukw-walk-around-op-book-david-doyle-9780897475792","title":"Gpa \u0026 Dukw Walk Around Op","description":"The US used mainly two wheeled amphibians during WI: the 1\/4-ton GPA and the 2-1\/2-ton DUKW. Although the former was a Ford Motor Company product and the later carried the label of archrival General Motors, they bore a similarity due to their common designer, Roderick Stephens. Despite their shared origins and cutting-edge design, the GPA and DUKW had vastly contrasting careers. Production of the GPA, essentially an amphibious Jeep, ended in 1943, just as the career of the DUKW, a virtual aquatic truck, was on its way to becoming the gold standard by which other amphibians are still measured. After taking part in the Allied invasion of Sicily in July 1943, the DUKW went on to see action in nearly every other US amphibious landing in WI and returned to see service during the Korean War as well.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"GB \/ VERY_GOOD \/ INTERNAL","offer_id":49952395100433,"sku":"GOR013461452","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50041335447825,"sku":"CIN0897475798G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/0897475798.jpg?v=1751363881"},{"product_id":"suburb-book-peter-roop-9781575721309","title":"A Suburb","description":null,"brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50098784436497,"sku":"CIN1575721309G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ VERY_GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":51326779097361,"sku":"CIN1575721309VG","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/1575721309.jpg?v=1751118890"},{"product_id":"v-100-gage-commando-walk-around-op-book-david-doyle-9780897475747","title":"V-100 Gage Commando Walk Around-Op","description":"The best-known US armored car of the post-WI era, the Cadillac Gage Commando (a versatile, amphibious, 4x4 vehicle) still looks modern even though it made its debut in 1962. The V-100 Commando went through numerous changes in light of its extensive and varied experience in reconnaissance, convoy escort, riot control, security, and as a personnel carrier. As it proved its worth to America's South Vietnamese allies and later to US forces in Southeast Asia, Cadillac Gage introduced one modification after another in response to evolving combat needs. Although US military use of the Commando declined after the end of the Vietnam conflict, many Commandos were rebuilt and still serve police forces and SWAT teams in Europe and the US; various armies around the world still use descendants of the combat version.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50132773208337,"sku":"CINB002G60Z06G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ VERY_GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50431426298129,"sku":"CIN0897475747VG","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/0897475747.jpg?v=1751045104"},{"product_id":"m41-walker-bulldog-walk-around-op-book-chris-hughes-9780897476430","title":"M41 Walker Bulldog Walk Around- Op","description":"The standard US light tank during the early years of the Cold War, the M41 Bulldog, was developed as a more powerful successor to the M24 Chaffee. Developed simultaneously, the M108 and M109 went from experimental to standard classification in July 1963. Production of the M108 was concluded within months, as its 105mm gun was found to be less well suited than the M109's 155mm cannon. Both vehicles saw service in Vietnam. In 1972, the M109s were rearmed with longer barrels resulting in the M109A1. Various modifications were introduced in subsequent years, and in the mid-1980s the M109 family was upgraded to include nuclear, chemical, and biological protection (those modified units were redesignated M109A4). Then in February 1990, a version incorporating an enlarged turret, improved armor and armament, increased ammunition stowage, NBC protection, and microclimate for the crew became available under the designation M109A6, the Paladin, a thoroughly modern weapon able to go from road march to pinpoint firing in less than 60 seconds.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50365810213137,"sku":"CIN0897476174G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/0897476174.jpg?v=1751171539"},{"product_id":"m26-dragon-wagon-walk-around-op-book-david-doyle-9780897476454","title":"M26 Dragon Wagon Walk Around-Op","description":"The 40-ton Tank Transporter Truck Trailer M25, dubbed the Dragon Wagon by enthusiasts, was the largest wheeled vehicle fielded by the US Army during WI.
