Inventory Manager

The role of an Inventory Manager is to ensure the smooth running of the full operation process, and safe working practices within our fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving performance and productivity.

As Inventory Manager you will also be responsible for ensuring all KPI information is reported onto the correct systems in an accurate and timely fashion.

It is expected that the Inventory Manager will communicate performance levels, ensure that stock levels are accurately documented and that accurate stock taking information is in place.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and control stock within the operations warehouse facility.
  • Implement and manage perpetual inventory counts
  • Investigate and control discrepancies
  • Daily and Monthly Reporting
  • Developing and improving the company's stock procedures
  • Dealing with stock queries from other departments
  • Dealing with out of stock, discrepancies and delayed orders
  • Producing and analysing stock reports
  • Completing stock taking
  • Developing strategies for optimizing inventory
  • Stock allocation
  • Analysing trends within the goods in/replenishment areas
  • Liaising with purchasing/finance and operational team regarding product availability
  • Lead and motivate goods in team and other teams within the operational function
  • Ensure environment is clean and tidy at all times
  • Ensure all Health and Safety processes are met at all times

  • Suppliers Delivery times – to help with the flow
  • Manage Collection times/frequency for Royal Mail

Team Manager

The Team Manager, reporting to the Warehouse Manager, will ensure the smooth running of the full operations process and safe working practices within our fast-paced environment.

A successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving performance and productivity.

It will also be the Team Manager's responsibility to ensure all KPI information is reported onto the relevant systems in an accurate and timely fashion.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Receiving and scanning
    • Interpreting & fulfilling sales orders for customers and productivity requirements
    • Maintaining quality in line with guidelines set out
    • Organising delivery schedules with the wholesale co-ordinator and ensuring delivery deadlines are met
    • Co-ordinating the loading of shipments with external carriers when required
    • Ensure all warehouse employees are fully trained to carry out their roles and that training records are kept up to date
  • Reporting Information
    • Reporting hourly performance KPI’s to members of the team
    • Liaising with the Shift Leader to feedback any issues and remain in line with operational processes
    • Involvement in weekly wholesale meetings with the wholesale co-ordinator to retain focus on objectives
    • Compiling and reporting daily production levels
    • Reporting consumable levels to the wholesale co-ordinator
  • Administration
    • Administrative duties as and when they are required
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Learning about the organisations products and services and keeping up to date with any relevant changes
    • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as and when required

Team Leader

The Team Leader, reporting to the Team Manager, will ensure the smooth running of the full operations process and safe working practices within our fast-paced environment.

A successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving performance and productivity.

The Team Leader will also be responsible in ensuring that all KPI information is reported onto the relevant systems in an accurate and timely fashion.

This role is key in meeting our customer quality expectations and ensuring that our orders are successfully despatched within a set timeframe.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Receiving, scanning, storing, picking and packing
    • Ensure each section achieves daily KPI targets
    • Ensure each section works to optimal production efficiencies to full daily customer orders
    • Maintain quality in line with company guidelines
    • Co-ordinate the loading of goods with external carriers
  • Reporting Information
    • Report hourly performance KPI’s to members of the team
    • Report any production and/or employee issues to the Team Leader to ensure optimal production in line with operational processes and business requirements
    • Involvement in weekly production meetings to retain focus on objectives
    • Compile and report daily production levels
  • Responsible for employees personal development
    • Ensure all warehouse employees are fully trained and multi-skilled to carry out various roles and training records are update accordingly
    • Undertake weekly/monthly 1-2-1 performance reviews in line with Team Leader direction
    • Manage, support and create a structured development plan to address under performance
  • Administration
    • Administrative duties as and when they are required
  • Other Responsibilities

Warehouse Operative

The role of a Warehouse Operative is to work efficiently and effectively, as part of a team to achieve targets set by the Company.

You will need to be flexible and adaptable as your will be responsible for stock processing, including sorting, scanning, picking and packing customer orders, working to set KPI's whilst maintaining a high standard of work.

You will also need to be able to work under pressure and strive to achieve targets. At World of Books we have a right first-time approach.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Unloading Goods - responsible for processing incoming stock on to the conveyor belt.
  • Scanning goods.
  • Stock processing - responsible for processing incoming stock ensuring accuracy and quality of books are placed in correct coloured tote/magnum.
  • Picking - using either hand-held scanner or manual ticket process from storage totes and transfer to collection points. Ensure totes are within regulation weight and not overfilled.
  • Packing - ensure orders are correctly packaged and labelled to prevent returned orders or customer complaints.
  • Dispatch - prioritise workload to ensure orders are dispatched on time to specification.
  • Health & Safety - maintain a high standard of housekeeping in each area of work. Make positive contributions to all company policies, rules and procedures including H&S. Ensure you have and wear correct PPE issued.

Requirements

  • Good level of written and spoken English.
  • Able to work alone and unsupervised.
  • Comfortable to work at heights.
  • Able to lift 25kg.

Desirable Requirements

  • Forklift Licence.
  • First Aid Certification.
  • Previous FMCG warehouse experience advantageous.
