The American President by Robert E Diclerico
This text explores the potential and limitations of presidential influence as the institution seeks to function in an increasingly controversial political environment. In this edition, the chapter on presidential selection is updated to include the 1992 Presidential Election, also incorporating the first 18 months of the Clinton Presidency. Robert E. DiClerico is professor of political science at West Virginia University and author of The American President, Few Are Choosen: Problems in the Presidential Selection, and Analyzing the Presidency. James W. Davis is professor of political science emeritus at Western Washington University and author of Presidential Primaries: Road to the White House, National Conventions in an Age of Party Reform, and U.S. Presidential Primaries and the Caucus-Convention System. Marc Landy is professor of political science at Boston College.
