Autumn Bulbs by Rod Leeds
The first book devoted to the subject, 'Autumn Bulbs' covers over 30 genera and hundreds of species and cultivars in depth. Unlike spring-flowering bulbs, which need to settle in over the winter before blooming, autumn bulbs are planted in late summer to early autumn and flower later the same season.
Rod Leeds is an experienced writer and horticulturalist. Over the last 25 years he has created a half-acre plantsman's garden that includes a wide range of bulbs. He now lectures and writes on gardening topics, calling on his practical experience. He is a member of the RHS Joint Rock Garden Committee and is very active in the Alpine Garden Society, where he judges shows and competitions. He is the author of The Plantfinder's Guide to Early Bulbs (David & Charles) and Plant Guide: Bulbs (DK).
