Cathedrals in the Sky by Andrew Rajan
The turbulent saga of Ash, a troublesome, twelve-year-old, trans-racially adopted British-Asian boy, sent to live on a Kent farm by a mother too ill to cope, during the long, hot summer of 1976. There, he discovers a buried WI Spitfire engine and determines to rebuild it with his Grandfather. But where's the rest of the aeroplane? 1941: Trinidadian fighter pilot Rudy finds himself reflecting on life, somewhere over the coast of France, limping back to Blighty in a wounded Spit. 2014: 2014: St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington. As Ash surveyed his own son Tom's broken body, he wondered how much he was willing to share, now Tom was old enough to ask awkward questions. Spanning over 70 years, Cathedrals In The Sky is a tightly woven coming-of-age psychology of love, loss, parenthood and identity, told from a series of five very different perspectives. After studying acting at the Guildhall School, she went on to feature in shows including EastEnders, Casualty, Soldier, Soldier, and The Bill on British television, as well as BAFTA award-winning dramas like Loved Up and Holding On and Hollywood's The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Little Joe, Jessica Hausner's Cannes-winning film, is the most recent example. As a filmmaker, I worked on the rom-com films Offending Angels, Short, and Opportunist. Following that, he earned a Screenwriting MA from the National Film and Television School. Following that, two privately commissioned feature-length documentaries, a feature film called Greys Inbetween, and a BrightHouse ad campaign were released.
Three stage plays: 'Mental,' which was shortlisted for the Bruntwood Prize, 'That Paki Play,' which was a Padamsee Award finalist, and 'Afghanistan,' which was on the Alfred Fagon Award longlist. Cathedrals in the Sky, #Lazarus10, The Great Game, and Amethyst, a children's narrative Mad Hatter won first place in both the Los Angeles International Screenplay and the Big Apple Screenplay competitions recently. BAFTA, the Sony Radio Awards, and the RTA Television Awards are among the judging panels.
