Tammy Yee was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she spent her childhood exploring tidal pools, swimming in streams, and writing and illustrating scary stories. She worked as a pediatric registered nurse after college. Her love for picture books was reignited after having children, so she traded in her stethoscope for a paintbrush in 1994 and has been illustrating ever since. Tammy's credits include The Tsunami Quilt: Grandfather's Tale, Lullaby Moon, and Baby Honu's Amazing Adventure, among others. Tammy and her family reside on Oahu with two bunnies, a chinchilla, a cockatiel, a cat, and Roxy, a burping bulldog.
