The Fire Station by Robert Munsch
Follow the fictional adventures inspired by two children who were actually in the audience at one of the author's own storytelling events! Cautious Michael and strong-willed Sheila invite themselves for a tour of the local fire station and look inside a fire engine only to find themselves trapped inside when it is called out to an emergency! At the scene of the fire they become so smokey and dirty that when they arrive home they are unrecognisable and have to spend days in the bath to get clean again. Of course, that doesn't stop Sheila wanting to visit the police station the very next day...
Robert Munsch is Canada's favourite storyteller and a renowned children's writer, who travels all over North America visiting schools and children's daycare groups telling his tales. His speciality is making them up live in front of his young audience! Michael Martchenko was born in Carcassone, France and is an award-winning children's illustrator and graphic artist.
