The Five of Us by Sir Quentin Blake

The Five of Us is a captivating tale of adventure, friendship and teamwork from one of Britain's best-loved illustrators. Angie, Ollie, Simona, Mario and Eric are five fantastic friends, each of whom has an unusual ability. Disaster strikes on a day out to the countryside but, working together and combining their individual powers, the Fantastic Five save the day. Teeming with Quentin Blake's characteristic sense of fun and his exuberant illustrations, The Five of Us is a powerful, though subtle, reminder that the world is a better place when we can focus on what we can do, rather than what we can't.
‘[The Five of Us] perfectly captur[es] the essence of what makes kids so imaginative, brilliant and brave whatever their background or ability’
‘An inspirational book with a lovely messageQuentin has a talent for storytelling and has crafted a tale that is moving, nail-biting and incredibly uplifting’
Quentin Blake taught for many years at the Royal College of Art, where he was head of the Illustration Department from 1978 to 1986. As well as being known for his collaborations with writers such as Russell Hoban and Roald Dahl, his own creations, such as Mister Magnolia, have contributed to his reputation as one of the world’s leading illustrators and an inspiration for artists everywhere.
