Mad Mullah by J D Warner
1899, Charles Hadleigh leaves his quiet life in rural England to work for his uncle in the colony of British Somaliland. As he arrives a rebellion breaks out led by the Mad Mullah. The Mullah and his fanatical Dervish warriors have declared a jihad against the infidels. They have vowed to drive the British into the sea. The entire colony is at peril of fire and sword. For the British there can be no retreat. For the Mullah there can be no surrender. For once the sword of rebellion has been drawn the scabbard must be thrown away.
Warner, J. D.: - J.D. Warner is a poet and writer, who has spent her life reading and writing quirky stories in fantasy and sci-fi worlds. A lifelong geology nerd, she also keeps Amazon parrots, who sometimes bite to remind her she lives in the real world. In 2000, her sci-fi epic serial Another Side of the Sky ran for a year in Keep It Coming Magazine, and in 2019 she released the fantasy novel Hex-Tych, to good reviews. Her short stories appear in various publications and she was once a winner in the short story contest held at The Cheltenham Literary Festival.
