Mansion House by Sally Jeffery
The Mansion House was designed by George Dance the Elder, and built from 1739 to 1752 as a residence for the Lord Mayors of London. As well as living accommodation, it provided rooms for entertainments, and a Justice Room where the Lord Mayor sat as Chief Magistrate of the City. There have been many changes since the house was completed, made either to safeguard the fabric of the building or in most cases in response to the changing needs and changing fashions of the day. It still survives as a remarkably complete example of an 18th-century town palace.| SKU | Unavailable |
