Tony Maccarella, or Mac to his pupils, has been teaching social studies since 1982 and is currently teaching AP World History and AP Macroeconomics at Saddle River Day School in Saddle River, New Jersey. Previous to this, he spent over ten years teaching AP European History at Parsippany Hills High School in Parsippany, NJ. Mac has also taught AP US History. History, Comparative Governments, Anthropology, Psychology, Microeconomics, and Military History are some of the subjects covered in this course. Tony has worked for ETS as a Reader and Table Leader for the AP European History test since 2002.

He is in charge of grading AP European History test questions, overseeing other readers, and assisting with scoring standards clarification. You might also see Tony at one of the several guest lecturer appearances he makes at social studies conferences in the Northeast. Tony is a frequent traveler. With his wife, family, and students from seven different European History classes, he has bicycled across the United States, motorcycled to Sturgis and back, studied in China, and traveled throughout Italy.
