Robert B. Parker's The Bridge by Robert Knott
From the New York Times bestselling author of Robert B. Parker's Ironhorse--and it's "everything we love about the Hitch & Cole series."*An ominous storm is rolling in over Appaloosa, carrying with it a band of night riders who show up at the Rio Blanco camp, where a three-hundred-foot bridge is under construction. When Appaloosa's sheriff and deputies suddenly vanish without a trace, territorial Marshals Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch saddle up to sort things out. But Cole and Hitch have no idea of the dangers they're about to face, or how far-reaching the destruction will be as the clouds over Appaloosa grow even darker.
Parker wrote seventy books, including the renowned Spenser detective series, Chief Jesse Stone novels, and the famed Virgil Cole/Everett Hitch westerns, as well as the Sunny Randall novels. He died in January 2010, after winning the Mystery Writers of America Grand Master Award and being long regarded as the undisputed dean of American mystery fiction. Robert Knott is a writer, producer, and actor. Among his many theater, television, and picture credits is the feature film Appaloosa, based on the Robert B. Parker novel. Parker adapted and produced the film alongside actor and producer Ed Harris. It's his debut novel, and it's a good one.
