1855. 319 pages. No dust jacket. Signed by the author. Inscribed to William S. O'Brien, Irish nationalist MP (his brother married De Vere's sister). Red cloth with gilt lettering. Front endpaper missing. Pencil marking to pages on occasion. Heavy foxing and tanning to endpapers and page edges. Some gutter cracking. Pages are rough cut. Both hinges cracked, thus the boards are slack. Moderate wear and bumping to spine, board edges and corners, with large splits along joints and loss to spine head. Notable sunning to spine and board edges, with scuffing, staining and soiling to boards.
