Retha Powers is the co-editor of This is My Best: Famous Authors Reveal Their Favorite Work and the editor of the collection Black Silk: A Anthology of African American Erotica. Her thoughts and reportage have featured in magazines like Essence, The New York Times Magazine, and Glamour. Powers graduated from Howard University with a B.A. and an M.F.A. Goddard College awarded her a B.A. in Creative Writing. She has worked in publishing for almost twenty years and is currently the Assistant Director of City College of New York's Publishing Certificate Program.
