Doctored is the shocking true story of abuse by a medical professional and the consequent failure of the justice system. Written with the aim of helping other survivors, this book brings an often neglected subject of such trauma into the spotlight.  The book begins with childhood adversity as Polly faced emotional neglect, verbal attacks and rejection from her adoptive mother. Polly then suffered domestic abuse, leading to serial rape by her once trusted doctor. Vulnerable and traumatized, Polly was ruthlessly exploited. Already burnt-out by a first custody case which she won, the secret medical crimes kick-started another case when the evil medic promised to help get her children back from their father. He did nothing.  Rejected by her family and betrayed by her friends, Polly fought for justice after the court acquitted the doctor. She became a one-woman campaign to expose the toxic medical misconduct and catastrophic malpractice of social workers who ‘gave’ her children to their sadistic father. Doctored recounts how Polly lost her family, children, home and career and rebuilt her life after her trauma.

Polly A. Magena originally qualified in one of the health professions, later gaining a BSc in social science. She has previously had poetry, fairy tales and articles published in various places.
