European Integration Theory by Antje Wiener
Systematically revised and updated throughout, this ground-breaking text provides an overview of all the major approaches to European integration. Each author reflects on the development, achievements and problems of their approach, and discusses historical and current issues of European integration. The concluding chapter then comparatively assesses the strengths and weaknesses of each approach and looks at the emerging issues. This edition includes two new chapters on the political theory of European integration and critical theory.
Review from previous edition This is a unique product in the crowded field of European Integration..The book is a milestone in moving the field beyond sterile theoretical divides and towards a more holistic approach to theory-building. * Kalypso Nicolaidis, St Anthony's College, Oxford *
No single volume provides as comprehensive an overview of theories of the politics and international relations of the European Union...The volume provides an up-to-date review of the field, and provokes the reader by suggesting weaknesses as well as strengths of the chief approaches. * Gary Marks, University of North Carolina *
