Joy Hakim's thesis is that despite all of the mistakes and tragic setbacks, freedom survives again and again.Joy Hakim has a bachelor's degree in government from Smith College and a master's degree in education from Goucher College. She was a former newspaper writer and editor as well as an elementary school teacher.
