MIKE LAWRENCE is one of bridge's greats, a multi-talented master of the game. As an original member of the famed Dallas Aces, he won two world championships - the Bermuda Bowl in 1970 and 1971 - and subsequently picked up another Bermuda Bowl title in 1987. An ACBL Grand Life Master with more than 23,000 masterpoints, Lawrence holds 16 North American championship titles including five Vanderbilts, four wins in the Reisinger Board-a-Match and one Spingold. Lawrence is a popular teacher and acclaimed author with more than 25 books to his credit. Two, How to Read Your Opponents' Cards (1974) and The Complete Book on Overcalls, (1979) were hailed as book of the year by Alfred Sheinwold; Conventions (2001) and The 2/1 System (2003) by Lawrence won the American Bridge Teachers' Association's Software of the Year Award. All of his works are must-reads for players serious about advancing their game. A longtime columnist for the ACBL's Bridge Bulletin and member of The Bridge World's Master Solvers' Club, Lawrence lives in Tennessee with his wife Karen.
