Imagining Things and other poems by Kenneth Steven

This new collection of lyrical and witty poems shows some of the surprise and excitement to be found in the natural world - both rural and urban. Even the familiar world of animals, seasons and seascapes is full of magic and mystery. The accessible poems are varied in style - from light-hearted to reflective. Children will enjoy reading these poems to themselves, and their teachers will appreciate the use of metaphor, rhythm and sound.
"Enjoying your work intensely - style and subject" -- Ted Hughes
"Strong and impressive work." -- A. J. Alvarez
Kenneth Steven is first and foremost a poet: 12 of his collections have appeared to date. He makes many programmes for BBC Radio: the majority of these poetry-related. His programme on the Scottish island of St Kilda won a Sony. Kenneth is also very much a writer of fiction for adults and youngsters alike: SPCK will publish his novel The Well of the North Wind in the spring of 2016. Kenneth’s books have appeared in some 16 languages over the years. He travels widely to give readings and talks.
