Born in Dublin in 1944, Eavan Boland studies in Ireland, London and New York. Her first book was published in 1967. She lives in Dublin with her husband, the novelist Kevin Casey, and their two daughters. Her prose book Object Lessons (PBS Special Commendation) was published in 1995.
