Lori L.Tharps is a journalism assistant professor at Temple University. She is also the author of Kinky Gazpacho: Life, Love, and Spain and the novel Replace Me, in addition to Hair Tale. Tharps continues to write for online and print publications about race, identity, parenting, and hair. Tharps, her husband, and their three children live in Philadelphia.
