The Landlord's Son by Rodney Cam
In The Landlord's Son Rodney gives an insight into his upbringing in the three public houses he shared with his parents, Jack and Joan Cam, and his maternal grandparents Bertie and Florrie Greaves, and later his brother Michael.
The book covers Rodney's formative years, his schooling and his early employment together with a detailed account of the day-to-day running of public houses in the 40s, 50s and 60s.
It is a personal recollection of life lived between 1942 and 1967 and highlights the social changes encountered during that time in Yorkshire, and it is quite clear that the changes in his opinion, were not always for the best.
