Hayes, Susan: - Dr Susan Hayes is a researcher specializing in estimating facial appearance from the skull. Her applied research and academic publications span the archaeological, palaeontological and forensic sciences, with the results frequently attracting international media attention. Most notably her work has included the first scientific face for 'Hobbit' (Homo floresiensis), estimating the face of a woman who lived in Thailand 13,600 years ago, an early farmer from Argentina, the Teouma Lapita people, the first Maori to colonise southern New Zealand, and Australia's notorious forensic case involving the unidentified remains of the 'Belanglo Angel'.
