Murder in Bloom by Lesley Cookman
Lesley Cookman's bestselling series featuring amateur sleuth Libby Sarjeant is back for its fifth instalment. Middle-aged artist-come-investigator Libby Sarjeant can't ever seem to have a quiet moment. Her son, Adam, has uncovered a body within Creekmarsh Place, where he is working as a gardener for TV personality Lewis Osbourne-Walker. The police seem to think there is no connection with the current owner but Libby, naturally, can’t just leave it at that. With her psychic friend Fran’s mind on other things, Libby has to go it alone. A murder in London inspires the police to dig deeper and Libby, determined to help her new friend Lewis, stirs up more trouble.
'With fascinating characters and an intriguing plot, this is a real page turner' - Katie Fforde 'Intrigue, romance and a touch of murder in a picturesque village setting' - Liz Young Perfect cosy crime, great descriptions, lovely well-drawn characters and a plot with so many twists and turns that I thought everyone was the murderer at some point! A really, really good read-- Christina Jones Nicely staged drama and a memorable and strangely likeable characters -- Trisha Ashley
Like many authors, Lesley started writing stories as a child. After a checquered beginning, including jobs as varied as actor, model, cabin crew and nightclub DJ, she fell into feature writing for publications including Business Matters, Which Computer and Poultry Farmers Weekly. She progressed to short stories for the vibrant Women's magazine market and, following a Master's Degree where she met her publisher, she turned to her first literary love of Traditional British Mysteries. The Libby Sarjeant series is still going strong, and has been joined by The Alexandrians, an Edwardian mystery series. Lesley also continues to work with her local theatre, which often finds its way into her books.
