Books a la Carte are unbound, three-hole-punch versions of the textbook. This lower cost option is easy to transport and comes with same access code or media that would be packaged with the bound book. Elegant, engaging, exacting, and concise, Giancoli's Physics: Principles with Applications with MasteringPhysics (R), Seventh Edition, helps students view the world through eyes that know physics. Giancoli's text is a trusted classic, known for its elegant writing, clear presentation, and quality of content. Starting with concrete observations and experiences students can relate to, the text then moves on to the great generalizations of physics. This approach demonstrates why we believe what we believe and reflects the way science is practiced. Written with the goal of giving students a thorough understanding of all of the basic concepts of physics, the text uses interesting applications to biology, medicine, architecture, and digital technology to show students how useful physics is in their own everyday lives and in their future professions. This package consists of:

Douglas C.Giancoli received his BA in physics (summa cum laude), MA in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and PhD in elementary particle physics from the University of California, Berkeley. He spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow in the Virology lab at UC Berkeley, honing his molecular biology and biophysics expertise. Nobel Laureates Emilio Segre and Donald Glaser are among his mentors. He has taught a variety of undergraduate courses, both standard and innovative, and he is always updating his textbooks in order to provide students with a better grasp of physics. Doug's favorite pastime is being outside, particularly climbing peaks. Climbing peaks, he argues, is similar to understanding physics in that it requires work but pays off handsomely.
