Plane Crash at Buck Creek by Tim Tingle

Travis Lee is out of work when his mine closes, but it doesn't take long to find a new job, while he and Joey are gone to Italy. In the meantime, back home in Alabama, his boys find that trouble can literally fall from the sky, when a drug smuggler's plane crashes near their camp.

Tim Tingle is a Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma enrolled member and a frequent speaker at tribal gatherings. His great-great grandpa, John Carnes, walked the Trail of Tears in 1835, and his writing and storytelling are fueled by his recollections of this family saga. Tingle, the author of six books, was a featured speaker at the Smithsonian Institute's Native American wing in 2006 and 2007.
